Great Mutato conceived the shape of this album, guiding Zakk Campbell through the depths of Off the Grid to find the sounds hidden beneath the surface. Together, they navigated a landscape of clarinet, bass, synthesizers, drums, and percussion, allowing the facility itself—the hum of the hadron collider, the echo of empty rooms—to become part of the composition.
Each track is a moment of alignment, where direction meets execution. Campbell performed, recorded, and mixed the collection, translating Great Mutato’s abstract intent into a tangible, vibrating reality.
